چکیده
The object-based against pixel-based image analysis approaches were assessed for lithological mapping in a geologically complex terrain using Visible Near Infrared (VNIR) bands of WorldView-3 (WV-3) satellite imagery. study area is Hormuz Island, southern Iran, salt dome composed dominant sedimentary and igneous rocks. When performing the (OBIA) approach, textural spectral characteristics features analyzed by use support vector machine (SVM) algorithm. However, (PBIA), spectra end-members, extracted from imagery, used through angle mapper (SAM) method. Several test samples confusion matrix to assess accuracy classification methods quantitatively. Results showed that OBIA was capable with an overall 86.54% which 19.33% greater than PBIA. also reduced salt-and-pepper artifact pixels produced more realistic map sharper borders. This research limitations method due relying merely on rock types when applied high-spatial-resolution VNIR It concluded application approach obtains accurate compared

Geographic Object Based Image Analysis (geobia) for Mangrove Tree Crown Delineation Using Worldview-2 Image Data
Providing spatially explicit information of mangrove tree crown is essential to support management and monitoring of mangrove environment. This study developed a method to delineate individual Avicennia marina mangrove tree crown in Whyte Island (Brisbane, Australia) using the newly emerged GEOBIA approach and pan-sharpened WorldView-2 (WV-2, 0.5m pixel size) data. We used region growing techni...
متن کاملNew Combined Pixel/object-based Technique for Efficient Urban Classsification Using Worldview-2 Data
The new advances of having eight bands satellite mission similar to WorldView-2, WV-2, give the chance to address and solve some of the traditional problems related to the low spatial and/or spectral resolution; such as the lack of details for certain features or the inability of the conventional classifiers to detect some land-cover types because of missing efficient spectrum information and a...
متن کاملPixel Vs Object-based Image Classification Techniques for Lidar Intensity Data
Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) systems are remote sensing techniques used mainly for terrain surface modelling. LiDAR sensors record the distance between the sensor and the targets (range data) with a capability to record the strength of the backscatter energy reflected from the targets (intensity data). The LiDAR sensors use the near-infrared spectrum range which provides high separabilit...
متن کاملObject-based Vs Pixel-based Mapping of Fire Scars Using Multi-scale Satellite Data
Assessment and mapping of burned areas using satellite data has been implemented so far at local, regional and global scale, by employing various image analysis techniques, according to the spectral and spatial characteristics of the remotely sensed data. The spatial resolution of satellite data together with landscape configuration guides of the decision for the classification approach to be a...
